@conoro just realized that I don't really use FB either. I accept friend requests, etc, but I find it too noisy. No RSS feed = deal breaker

Totally agree. Cannot understand how people can use it without RSS. Old-school portal really with some nice new APIs. Only ever go in to accept requests too!
Embedding widgets without any actual interaction/integration with FB looks pretty easy just using an iframe. I've seen one widget done already which took a dev a few hours on a sunday to do. However, the trick to adoption is to get that "add application to your facebook" integration so the viral thing can happen.
