Using Selfnotes.net to draft 400 word review of Sony Ericsson P1i. No File->Open->hunt->peck to retrieve just click on the bookmark :-)

@EirePreneur - SelfNotes is bloody-mindedly simple. I think it's really a parasite webapp in that it doesn't have any signup, tagging etc. I use it myself in conjunction with delicious which does have bookmarking/tagging. I've had a few (all good) suggestions about features to add but I have to wonder - why add signup, tagging etc when I can just piggyback on delicious or other bookmarking services ? which reminds me I must see if facebook have their own bookmarking system and buttons.
@sxoop totally agree that simplicity and elegance is key here. Please resist any temptation to complicate it, i.e., I'm not sure I like the link creep for bookmarking options at the bottom. In fact I really hate that kind of clutter on blogs - if people want to bookmark stuff they should go to the bother of learning how IMHO.
Personally I've replaced my FF bookmarks with the del.icio.us plugin which means when I execute a Ctrl+D it bookmarks both locally and remotely. For my draft review I've tagged with 'selfnotes' and the editing password 'p1i' (in case @topgold or others want to contribute opinions). If that format was adopted people could subscribe to the 'selfnotes' tag to be notified of new openly editable selfnotes,.... kinda like super-simple wikis.
yea, could do that way alright. But I think it'd add some peace of mind if there were even a simple radio button for privacy. And that way I could continue to use something like delicious to share my SelfNotes bookmarks between home and work.

I really appreciate @sxoop delivering me a personal SelfNotes Christmas present. It's simply elegant and should stay that way.

Thanks Bernie. I've just added a 'share on facebook' link for the facebookistas. Now to do the same for the myspacers and beboers.

@EirePreneur I hate these buttons on blogs but selfnotes needs to be tethered to something: either remote or local bookmarks.

The other thing is that the buttons only appear for actual notes (not selfnotes.net itself) .

Only thing I'd like to see added is a 'private note' toggle.. i.e. you need the password to view at all, not just to edit.
Aside from that, it's the simplicity of this yoke that makes it appealing. Sign-up, tagging, etc. isn't needed at all (imo).

@micflan If you want the note to be private then only share it with those you would like to see it (i.e. don't use delicious , facebook etc)

...or maybe that's where the 'do not share' switch in delicious comes in handy? hmm.. never had reason to use that before. Must investigate.
